The Renewable Energy and Sustainability Laboratory at AUI had no system for booking equipment or sharing research progress. Faculty, researchers, and students worked in silos — no visibility into ongoing experiments, no audit trail for accreditation, no scalable path to include other university labs.
Approach
Built a dual-purpose platform: a booking system for faculty to reserve the Renewable Energy and Sustainability Lab, and a research hub where researchers post experiments and progress updates.
Gave students read access to ongoing research, enabling them to follow projects and earn academic credit for engagement.
Designed the data model and architecture for multi-lab scalability — framework ready to onboard additional AUI labs without a rewrite.
Included accreditation support by providing a centralized record of lab activities and outcomes.
Maintained an active deployment pipeline shipping 122 deployments across production.
Outcome
ResLab launched at reslab.ma as AUI's official lab platform — faculty booking, research publishing, and student visibility in one place, with a framework ready to scale across all university laboratories.
